FAQ’S

Eyelash extensions should not damage the natural eyelashes if they are applied correctly. What this means is the eyelash extension goes on one, single, isolated natural eyelash, so the natural lashes can grow and shed independently as they normally would. Careful consideration of the length, and volume of the extensions is also crucial. Wearing extensions that are much too long and/heavy can damage natural eyelashes. At The Lash Sanctuary, we have a vested interest in the health of your natural eyelashes, and focus on applying extensions that are beautiful, yet sustainable for long term wear.

Each extension should last for the life of the natural eyelash cycle. As your natural lashes grow and shed, the extensions will grow and shed with them. Most clients experience enough shedding within 3 weeks to be in need of a re-fill. Some clients need, or want, to come every 2 weeks. These clients either have a somewhat faster growth cycle, are a little rougher on their lashes, or just prefer to have their lashes at maximum fullness as much as possible.

How full your lashes will look at the end of your re-fill appointment will be greatly affected by how many lashes you have when you arrive for your appointment- ideally you should have 50% of your extensions still on at re-fill time. Please keep this in mind when determining how long to wait to schedule your re-fills. Also arriving on time for your appointments with clean lashes will ensure you will receive the maximum amount of eyelashes. Waiting more than 5 weeks between appointments will require another full set appointment.

Eyelash extensions are surprisingly easy to maintain. The important factors are to keep your eyelashes clean by cleansing them throughly and daily. It is also important to avoid waterproof cosmetics, and products with oil in the eye area. Thorough aftercare instructions are given at the time of appointment.

Yes! That is one of the many amazing things about wearing eyelash extensions. Unlike mascara, or other type of false lashes, you can swim and your lashes will still look longer, fuller, and gorgeous after getting wet. No smudging!

We conduct thorough consultations with every client to help determine what length, curl, and shape would best suit the client's eyes, taking into consideration both your style preference and the current health of your natural eyelashes. Our lash stylists take exceptional pride in maintaining a high standard of hygiene and professional application as well as proper technique. The application procedure is so relaxing that most clients even fall asleep. Many wake up stunned and amazed to see how gorgeous their new lashes look because we work every set to perfection.

It is best to come without any traces of eye makeup on. If you are unable to do so, there is cleanser and eye makeup remover provided, but please arrive early to allow time for cleansing, so we can spend your entire appointment time applying your beautiful lashes.

Generally the answer is “no”. Clusters, individuals, or strips are actually adding lashes to the lashline. What we do is apply one or more extensions to one existing natural eyelash. Often clients who consistently wear the other type of false lashes have fine, sparse natural lashes, and it is impossible to recreate that “strip look” they are used to. We encourage you to call for a phone consultation, prior to making an appointment, if this is the type of product you are used to wearing.

Clients who have no eyelashes are not recommended to wear extensions, as they are applied only to the existing natural eyelashes. If you have gone through, or are going through chemotherapy, please call or email us to chat about your lashes, so we can determine when it is appropriate for you start wearing eyelash extensions.

All lash appointments are held on an appointment only basis. We do not charge per lash, but prefer to charge by time, and apply as many lashes as possible during the allotted time. Being on time and having clean lashes ensures you get the maximum time for lash application. Unfortunately additional time can not be given to clients who arrive late to their appointment.

Our online schedule will show all the available openings. If you are not seeing anything for a particular month, that means we are fully booked. Also check back frequently as cancellations do occur and will be reflected online.

It is a good idea to get your initial set of lashes about 2 weeks before your special event, then schedule a mini fill about 1-2 days prior to the occasion. This ensures that you have time to adjust to having eyelash extensions, as well as the mini fill appointments allows to make any adjustments to length, volume, and curl that you would like.

Since we are specifically setting aside time for you, at your appointment, last minute cancellations not only hurt us, but hurt our many clients who are on a waiting list who would have loved to have that appointment. If you are unable to make your appointment, please contact us as soon as possible to reschedule. Emailing us at info@thelashsanctuary.com is the best way to get a message to us. Any appointments cancelled less than 24 hours from appointment time will be charged 50% of appointment fee. All cancellations within 12 hours, or no shows, will be charged 100% of fee. We reserve the right to discontinue scheduling appointments with clients who no show 2 times, or continuously cancel under 24 hours.
